Giacomo
Manzu

Manzu is something of an anomaly.

If his work were discovered in the ruins of a 15th century church, he would be recognized as a brilliant peer of Donatello or Della Quercia. But in the 20th Century he was recognized as a leading modern sculptor, the peer of Giacometti and Moore.

Aside from a few evening classes in Bergamo, he was self-taught - yet he was professor of sculpture at the Brera for 15 years and taught at Turin and Salzburg. But for all this teaching - what became of his students ?
