Khoren Der Haroutiounian
Born in western Armenia in 1909 .From 1915 -1921 after a long refugee life he had settled in USA , where he began to study sculpture as a hobby in a Sunday school . He improved himself by self education .
From 1929 he was in New York . from 1930 -1944 he lived in Jamaica where he created a lot of sculptural compositions about local people life .
He had 28 exhibitions in several countries of Europe ,America and Soviet Union .
In 1980 he dedicated his private collection of some early paintings and sculptures (more than 200 pieces of bronze stone and wood sculptures ) to Armenia .
