Onorio Ruotolo
1888 - 1966
Best known for his instruction of young Isamu Noguchi, Ruotolo spent six of his teenage years
in the Naples art academy before he sought fame and fortune in New York. His one-session portraits are incredible
- though his monuments would probably appeal more to the general public than to the aesthete, being more
cartoonish than sculptural. He ran an art school, the DaVinci academy, wrote poetry, illustrated books,
and published a political journal
