This page mostly features Polasek's
early work - done while resident at the American Academy in Rome (1910-12) along with the
other Prix de Rome winners (including Paul Manship). I included an example of his
later work to show one of the directions he eventually took after he had moved to Chicago,
leading the sculpture department at the Art Institute for the next 30 years. Visitors to
Chicago's Art Institute will find several of his portrait busts in the Ryerson Library.
I've also included pictures taken of various work found around Chicago.
